Sewing Mini Lessons from Shiny Happy WorldThere’s a new mini class series available – this one is called Start Stitching.

This is the series where we actually, well, start stitching! I’ll show you how to tie a knot in the end of your thread and do some simple handsewing, and then we jump onto the machine. You’ll learn how to sew straight lines, turn corners, sew and clip curves, and cut out a simple pattern. We’ll finish up the series with a little lesson about the grain of the fabric – what the heck it is and what difference it makes.

These mini series are an easy way to work through some of the HUNDREDS of videos and tutorials here at Shiny Happy World. They’re delivered one lesson at a time, every day for five days.

Right now there are only two series available, but I’ll be adding more almost every week.

The classes are delivered by email using the same system I use to deliver the weekly newsletter. That means if you want to take them you need to be a member, and you need to have cookies enabled on your computer. That’s the only way to make the magical technology work. :-) You can read more about cookies (and find a link to check and see if they’re enabled on your computer) on the FAQ page.

Want to sign up for a series?

If you’re already a member, go to the Members Only page and follow the links near the bottom of the page.

If you’re not already a member, go to the sign-up page to enter your info and choose a username and password. Then wait for the welcome email (it should come within an hour) and follow the links in that.

Happy Monday!

That's me!
