Fletcher – A Free Chevron Quilt Pattern

Fletcher - a Free Chevron Quilt PatternA few months ago Michelle from Cloud9 Fabrics sent me a fat quarter bundle of the beautiful Mixteca collection designed by Eleanor Grosch. It was stunning and graphic and bold and I knew exactly what I wanted to make the moment I saw the fabric. But it arrived right after I broke the website and making the quilt in my mind had to take a back seat until the time was right.

The time is now! And I decided to make this a FREE pattern.

That’s right – FREE! And that doesn’t mean it’s some skimpy abbreviated form of one of my regular patterns. You’ll get everything one of my regular quilt patterns normally includes.

Complete instructions – including yardage requirements, cutting instructions, and assembly diagrams – for five different sizes.

  • Crib (48″ x 61″)
  • Nap (60″ x 72″)
  • Twin (66″ x 83″)
  • Queen (84″ x 94″)
  • King (108″ x 94″)

Detailed instructions with step-by-step photos showing how to assemble the blocks.

Instructions (and diagrams) for pieced backs for all the quilt sizes.

Links to videos teaching you all the skills you’ll need to complete the project – including basting, quilting and binding.

This is a very easy quilt – easy to cut, easy to sew, and easy to machine quilt. And it’s designed to make efficient use of fat quarters and all your scraps. Wait until you see how this one goes together!

Want the pattern? It’ll be a free download in Monday’s newsletter.

Update! Did you miss the deadline to get signed up for the newsletter? And you still want this quilt pattern? No worries! When you sign up for the newsletter you get access to all the free patterns released so far this year! Sign up now and watch for your welcome email. The link will be in there.

If you’re already on the list, just check your mail on Monday morning.

If you’re not on the list, get signed up here.

If you’re not sure – go to the sign up link and try to sign up again. The chimps can tell it’s a duplicate and they won’t sign you up twice. They’re clever that way.

Have a great weekend, everyone!

That's me!

You’ll have to share a photo after you make it! I can’t wait to see it in other fabrics. :-)

Sorry – Fletcher is the name of this quilt pattern and I don’t have any patterns called Gypsy. Maybe somebody featured the Fletcher quilt on another post along with free patterns from other designers and that’s how you found me?

Wendi, thank you for such a nice welcome!! I love the Chevron quilt pattern, can’t wait to get it. I am interested in making the nap size one in brights for little tykes.

Your website is precious, so glad I found you, and the felt things, what a thing of beauty…I’d love to learn about this also. I am a sewer, knitter and machine embroiderer. I think I can find room for something else!!

    Thank you!!
