Oh, you’ve never heard of a Christmas pickle?

I have 2 FOs today (both very exciting), but there’s one I’m ecstatic about… my Christmas pickle!

Yarn: Classic Elite Yarns Wool Bam Boo
Pattern: Christmas Pickle
I love (eating) pickles, so I’m particularly in love with the American Christmas Pickle tradition… and I’m a bit of a Christmas Pickle Collector. And since holiday-time is rolling around, I couldn’t resist crocheting a Christmas Pickle… and it’s a free pattern, so you should make one, too!

BFF Cowl

In previous posts, I’ve been telling you about the BFF cowl that I’m knitting and swapping with Sarah. Sarah finished her half a couple weeks ago, but I wouldn’t open the package until I finished my half.

Guess what was inside? In addition to her beautiful knit cowl, there were some adorable Sexy Knitter stitch markers:

Aren’t they great?

So… here’s my half of the cowl that I knitted!

And here’s the duo together:

Yay! Now, I’m mailing Sarah’s half off… she’s been waiting!

Thanks for stopping by and reading!

I hope you have an awesome and craft-filled weekend!

  1. Su SAYS...

Well, you certainly learn something new everyday. And today it’s about Christmas “Pickles”!
Now all my friends are going to get Christmas Pickles, with a little tag repeating your legend. I can’t wait to see their reaction. Thanks so much what fun.

    • @Su I’ll do a post soon about my Christmas pickle collection 🙂

  2. Su SAYS...

BTW – googled it – have you seen the Christmas pickle hat @ Zazzle? Worth a look. LOL!

  3. ZoeOB SAYS...

Oh wow – now I have an excuse to make a Christmas pickle!!! Your BFF cowl is quite lovely too. My FOs this week have been two cowls, two scarfs and a mastery of the ever elusive, always confusing tubular bind off. (Don’t be too impressed on my FOs though. There were on big needles, LOL.)

  4. I love pickles, too, but I wasn’t aware that the Christmas Pickle was a thing until a couple years ago (this knitting world is great, isn’t it?). I’ve yet to make one, but yours looks great. Love the BFF, too!

  5. I love the texture of the cowl!! I also love your pickle ornament. It’s nice to see something different as between the story and a hubs who love dill pickles, we have been gifted about 6 of the plain glass ornaments!

    • I’m so happy there’s so much pickle-love! I’ll be doing a blog post soon about my collection 🙂
