Add some waves to your quilts with this free applique pattern!
In addition to the wavy stripes you see in the top image, the free pattern also includes a template designed to use at the bottom of a block, in combination with an animal applique.
Here’s an example.
These waves will work particularly well with the following patterns:
- Fish
- Greedy Seagulls
- Sea Creatures
- Arctic Chill
- Adrian Alligator/Casey Crocodile
- Danny Dragonfly
- Frasier Frog
- Harper Hippo
- Oswin Octopus
- Serena Seal

Hello Miss Wendi, I wanted to thank you for those 52 weeks of archives. It was so much fun to look at it. I always miss something. I will go back to it over and over. You inspired me and took me out of my ¨mojo¨.
I have a question, it is about the greedy seagull quilt you did. I fell in love with the background. But I cannot discern what fabric it is and worse what color are the background. You see, I am a jewel type of girl. My first quilt was red and white… ?!! I just had a lot of it in my stash. But the finish of the fabric and the tone confuse me and seduce me. I do not need an answer asap but I would appreciate it. Want to do this next summer. Thanks
I’m so glad you’ve enjoyed the archives posts! For your question about the Greedy Seagulls quilt, I actually created a collection on Spoonflower, gathering up the exact fabrics I used. You can find it here. https://www.spoonflower.com/collections/1398955-greedy-seagulls-by-shinyhappyworld The background blocks are the Sea Breeze blocks in dark and medium. Have fun with it!
